The Public Works Agency is responsible for development and management of the City’s Capital Improvement Program (“CIP”), which includes Neighborhood Street Improvements, Arterial Widening, Street Reconstruction/Resurfacing, Traffic& Infrastructure Improvements, City Facility Improvements and Bikeway/Park Improvements. The total CIP budget for FY 2014-2015 is $50,860,367.

Along with the CIP, the Public Works Agency is central to the Santa Ana Transit Vision, which includes the Santa Ana Regional Transportation Center (SARTC) Master Plan and implementation of the “Fixed Guideway”, a street car which will connect SARTC with Garden Grove’s planned transportation center. This vision is supported by the Transit Zoning Code and Station District Strategic Plan.

The Agency is comprised of three major divisions: Administration, Engineering Services,
Water Services, and Maintenance Services.
