In its continuing effort to serve the needs of all patrons, the Santa Ana Public Library provides access to a variety of adaptive technologies for patrons with disabilities.


Adaptive Software

Kurzweil 1000
Kurzweil 1000 makes text accessible to people with blindness and visual impairments. The software speaks text aloud in many different voices. Kurzweil 1000 also has technologies like scanning, image processing, and text-to-speech with communication and productivity tools.

Kurzweil 3000
Kurzweil 3000  is an educational software that brings all pieces of the literacy puzzle together. With one easy proven solution, Kurzweil 3000 ensures instruction and learning on a  personal and meaningful level. Students can access content and literacy support software from any device or computer with internet access.


Adaptive Hardware

Optelec ClearView C
The Optelec ClearView C is a desktop video magnifier that is designed to improve your reading experience. With the Optelec ClearView C, patrons naturally start to read at the top of a page and continue all the way down till they reach the bottom of the page. This magnifier makes it easier to navigate any document.

TrackerPro 2
The TrackerPro 2 head mouse provides reliable hands-free mouse control for people who are unable to use a regular mouse. The system uses a smooth and pixel precise cursor to provide an accurate hands free mouse. An individual can use video call, browse the internet, read a digital boosk, type an email, or just about anything else that can be done on a computer, tablet, or phone.
