Join us on Sunday, August 24 at Centennial Park for a full day of culture as the City of Santa Ana hosts its annual Chicano Heritage Festival!

We invite everyone to come together as we celebrate the City's rich Mexican American history. Guests can look forward to live performances, a car cruise and show, food, community art, crafts, a kids zone, cultural exhibits, and much more. This celebration will be free, family-friendly, and open to all.

*As a friendly reminder, alcohol, over-night camping, grilling, and smoking are not permitted.


Program

  • 1:30 p.m.: Danza Azteca Xochipilli
  • 1:55 p.m.: DJ intro - Funk Freaks
  • 2 p.m.: The Desperados
  • 3 p.m.: Pachuco Jose y Los Diamantes
  • 4 p.m.: Diamond Ortiz and Zackey Force Funk
  • 5:15 p.m.: Thee Midniters
  • 6:15 p.m.: El Chicano

Important event details

  • The entrance to the event and main parking structure will officially open at 12 p.m. through the intersection of Centennial Rd and S Mohawk Dr. (no public canopies or picnics will be allowed prior to this time).
  • All food and vendor booths close at 6:30 p.m. sharp.
  • The main parking structure will close at 8:30 p.m. All vehicles must exit the building no later than 8:25 p.m.

Car cruise

Applications to be a participant at the Chicano Heritage Festival car show and cruise are now being accepted. If you are interested in being a car show participant of the Chicano Heritage Festival please fill out the form.

  • This year's car cruise will start at 1:50 p.m. and enter through West Centennial Road (please note only authorized vehicles will be allowed to particpate in the car cruise) and cars will be staged near the event area.
  • It is free to participate however, additional documentation will be required.
  • Please note this is to gather a list of interested car show participants and is NOT a guarantee that you will be asked to participate at the event.
  • Participants who fit a variety of criteria will be contacted to move through the application process by City of Santa Ana special event staff.
  • Participants will be given a set time for set up and for cleanup, and being late or leaving early can affect participation in future events.

Parking for this event is free, but limited. The entrance to the event and main parking structure will officially open at 12 p.m. through the intersection of Centennial Rd and S Mohawk Dr.
