City of Santa Ana offers opportunities to influence rules for growth and development

Posted on April 15, 2025

The City of Santa Ana is inviting all interested community members, business owners, developers, and design professionals to participate in the second round of stakeholder workshops for the Comprehensive Zoning Code Update this May.

Building on the valuable feedback gathered during the initial workshops held in July and November 2024, these upcoming sessions offer a crucial opportunity to shape future growth and development within the city.

Participants will have the chance to delve into key topics that will directly influence the draft Zoning Code, including:

  • Interface between Residential and Industrial Uses: Exploring ways to foster compatibility between neighborhoods and jobs-rich uses.
  • Development and Design Standards: Establishing modern guidelines for the aesthetic and functional qualities of future development.
  • Land Use Regulations: Creating and refining rules that lead to a mix of thriving businesses and homes.
  • Streamlining Processes: Identifying opportunities to make permitting and other procedures more resource efficient.
  • Nonconforming Uses and Structures: Addressing existing properties that do not align with the General Plan vision.

The City has scheduled multiple workshops throughout May to accommodate various schedules and interests. Specific dates, times, and locations for each topic are included in this flyer and are as follows:
