Staff from the City of Santa Ana Public Works Traffic Engineering Department along with other City staff joined students at Washington Elementary for Walk to School Day on October 9. The City team demonstrated to the students how to use the crosswalk and cross the street safely. The Public Works “Cone Head Team” were enthusiastically received by the students and all who attended the event.
The annual event encourages students and parents to increase their physical activity, practice pedestrian and bicycle safety, reduce traffic congestion and strengthen connections between families, schools and communities.
