Over 30 businesses from Sahuayo, Michoacán, Mexico will be displaying their products to build business opportunities with local companies March 28-30.

SANTA ANA, Calif. – Get ready to ignite new business connections and expand your horizons! This unique event is designed to foster international business collaborations, strengthen economic ties, and open doors to new opportunities between Santa Ana, California, and its Sister City, Sahuayo, Michoacán, Mexico. Over 30 Mexican businesses will showcase their products, from leather sandals, purses and belts, to mezcal, tequila, candies and desserts.

“This inaugural business expo represents a remarkable opportunity to deepen the strong bond between the cities of Santa Ana and Sahuayo,” Mayor Valerie Amezcua said. “By connecting businesses, entrepreneurs, and professionals from both regions, we are fostering cross-cultural collaboration and new economic opportunities. Together, we will strengthen global business ties to benefit both of our communities for years to come.”

Santa Ana & Sahuayo: A Growing Partnership

Santa Ana and Sahuayo officially became sister cities on October 20, 2022, following a unanimous resolution by the Santa Ana City Council. Mayor Valerie Amezcua visited Sahuayo from July 28 to July 31, 2023, to formalize the agreement alongside Dr. Manuel Gálvez Sánchez, Mayor of Sahuayo. This partnership fosters collaboration in business, culture, tourism, education, and more, further strengthening the deep-rooted connections between the two communities.
