Impounded vehicles and post storage hearings
A vehicle release must be obtained in person at the Santa Ana Police Department's Traffic Division.
The following is required:
- The registered owner or their agent must be present with a valid driver’s License.
- If the registered owner does not possess a driver’s license, he/she must have a valid California DMV Identification card.
- Current registration for the impounded vehicle.
- A fee to be paid by Visa/MasterCard, or cash with exact change only for the release of the vehicle.
- A vehicle release form from the Police Department is required for 30-day impound.
Fees
- $188.00 for a non-driver's license related impound
- $256.00 for a driver's license related impound
- $5.00 sign-offs for SAPD issued citations
- $21.00 sign-offs for non-SAPD issued citations
- $2.00 for copy of lost citation
