Alexa Rubio’s bright design showcases the vibrant life of Santa Ana, as well as the artist’s personal connection to the city. Santa Ana’s music scene is found in the folklórico dancer doll and the vinyl DJ booth, as are the artist’s memories of her cousins and aunt. The sugar skulls and pastries represent Día de los Muertos, one of the biggest celebrations in Santa Ana, as a water tower marks the city’s limit. Alexa’s vision celebrates a city that values expression, creativity, and the many cultures and traditions that make it come alive.
