Posted on January 16, 2025

A firefighter walks by a house that is smoldering and smoking from a fire.

On Thursday, January 16, at approximately 8 a.m., Orange County Fire Authority firefighters responded to a structure fire at 414 W. 16th St., near 17th and Ross streets in Santa Ana. When crews arrived on scene they found a single-story residence and two vehicles on fire, and a nearby residence starting to catch fire. To the rear of the structure a powerline had dropped and two sheds were burning.

OCFA crews began an aggressive interior attack on the fire outside and inside of the home, but had to withdraw from the inside of the structure because the roof was starting to collapse. The fire was contained and heavy equipment was on scene assisting with the removal of debris.

Fortunately, the residents were able to escape the fire and no injuries were reported. The impacted residents indicated they will stay with other family members. Thank you to OCFA for your quick response, and to the Santa Ana Police Department for assisting.
