The original author of the beloved children’s book character Pete the Cat will perform and sign books during the Santa Ana Public Library’s Día de los Niños, Día de los Libros (Children’s Day, Book Day) on Saturday, April 29.
The Library invites children and families to join in the festivities from 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Main Library, located at 26 Civic Center Plaza in Santa Ana. This year will mark the 15th annual celebration of Día de los Niños, Día de los Libros, which emphasizes the importance of children, literacy, families and National Arbor Day.
The free event will feature a variety of fun-filled activities, including a magic show, train rides, a FestiBubble area, an inflatable maze, and educational and interactive science booths. There will also be character meet-and-greets with Pete the Cat and Elephant and Piggie, a resource fair, a book giveaway for youth, and much more. The event stage will feature exciting performances throughout the day, including a special concert at 11:30 a.m. by Eric Litwin, the original author of the Pete the Cat book series.
