Purchasing and procurement
The Purchasing Division's goal is to ensure the acquisition of quality goods and services at the lowest total cost for the City and to promote fair and open competition among large and small suppliers. Under the authority of the City Charter and Municipal Code, the division oversees the competitive bidding process and supplier selection for a full range of municipal services and programs. There are opportunities for construction/capital improvement projects, various professional services, and general goods and services.

Office hours are from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. City Hall is closed alternate Fridays. Vendors are encouraged to make appointments prior to visiting Purchasing Division personnel. Courtesy visits are not encouraged, as staff may not be available due to daily responsibilities. It is recommended that initial contact with other City departments be made through the Purchasing Division.
Bids for major public works construction projects are solicited directly by the Public Works Department.
Professional Service requests are initiated by various City departments and solicitations are posted under the IFBs, RFPs and Bid Results link.
