Inspection Results

The inspector signs the Job Card at the job site. When the inspector returns to the office at the end of the day, the inspection results are entered into the City’s permit database. You can check your inspection results online.

Canceling An Inspection

To cancel an inspection, call the Building Safety Division at (714) 647-5853 before 8:30 am on the day of your scheduled inspection.

Who Requests the Inspections?

It shall be the duty of the holder of the building permit or their duly authorized agent to notify the building official when work is ready for inspection.  It shall be the duty of the permit holder to provide access to and means for inspections of such work that a required by this code.

How do I obtain a permit?

Application for a permit may be made at the public counter. You may also need to submit construction drawings for plan check review that detail your proposed improvements. There are many handouts to help you through this process and our counter staff can provide expert guidance if you need assistance.
