Hope, Health & Harmony, a family-friendly wellness event and Roosevelt-Walker Community Center’s Annual Open House, will take place on Friday, May 16, 2025, from 5 – 8 p.m. at Roosevelt-Walker Community Center, located at 816 E. Chestnut Ave., Santa Ana, CA 92701.
This year, we are excited to bring together the City of Santa Ana Parks, Recreation, and Community Services Agency (PRCSA) and the OC Mental Health and Wellbeing Promotion for Diverse Communities project with the Center for Applied Research Solutions (CARS) to host an evening of community, culture, and holistic wellness. This collaborative event is a unique opportunity for residents to explore the resources available at the community center, meet local mental health and wellness organizations, and engage in hands-on activities that promote well-being.
Attendees can expect an immersive experience featuring interactive wellness demonstrations, cultural demonstrations, and engaging activities for all ages. The event will highlight three key wellness themes:
- Cultivating Calm: Discover the mental health benefits of mindfulness and therapeutic gardening with hands-on experiences like composting, planting basics, and stress-reducing nature-based activities.
- Nourishing Minds: Learn how good nutrition supports mental wellness, featuring organic produce, culturally inspired food tastings, and engaging discussions on how diet impacts emotional well-being.
- Rooted in Balance: Experience the benefits of mindfulness, breathwork, and yoga through guided activities that help cultivate inner peace and resilience.
Additionally, over 20 local mental health and wellness organizations, as well as community enrichment organizations such as the City of Santa Ana’s PRCSA, Water Resources Division, Public Library, Santa Ana Zoo, and diverse behavioral health organizations including Orange County Health Care Agency (HCA), will be present. These organizations will provide interactive resource booths where attendees can participate in engaging activities such as wellness journaling, DIY relaxation kits, movement-based exercises for stress relief, and family-friendly experiences that highlight local educational and recreational resources.
This event is a celebration of the rich diversity of Orange County, embracing the unique cultural traditions, health practices, and community strengths that make our region vibrant. By bringing together individuals from different backgrounds, Hope, Health & Harmony fosters inclusivity, cultural pride, and a shared commitment to wellness for all.
Attendees can earn a complimentary food truck meal ticket by engaging with the event’s interactive resource booths. Simply complete an activity at any four booths, collect stamps on your event card, and redeem it at the Info Table. Free meal tickets are available for the first 300 participants.
Free roundtrip shuttle service to the event will be provided from select locations in Santa Ana and Midway City, thanks to our partners at Abrazar. Guests must register in advance using the transportation form available online or via QR code. Shuttle seats are limited and must be reserved by May 10, 2025.
