Street vacation (abandonment)
A Street vacation is an act by the legislative body to abandon the public right to use a public street or public alley. Street vacations (summary and general (non-summary)) are governed by the provisions of the streets and highways code. The processing time for the summary vacation can vary from 3-6 months, and general vacation 6-12 months. A preliminary review prior to the initial submittal is required by the Public Works Agency.
