The Salvation Army Hospitality House
818 East Third Street, Santa Ana, CA
Hospitality House Expansion
The Salvation Army Hospitality House is one of the few year-round emergency shelters in Orange County and has been serving persons experiencing homelessness at 818 East Third Street since 1964. In November 2016, the Salvation Army completed an expansion of its Third Street facility to serve up to 75 men experiencing homelessness; an increase from the prior capacity of 50.
A Management and Operation Plan (MOP) was prepared for the Salvation Army Hospitality House to satisfy the requirements of the City of Santa Ana Emergency Shelter ordinance. The MOP found below describes the temporary housing services to be provided for persons experiencing homelessness, and best practices to maintain a safe and healthy environment for the community.
Management and Operation Plan
An Advisory Committee was formed to provide feedback to the Third Street Hospitality House Temporary Shelter operators in implementing the Operation and Management Plan, enhance community relations, and bring information on any strengths and concerns from the neighborhood or City about the operation of the Hospitality House. The Emergency Shelter MOP identifies emergency housing services for homeless persons and best practices to maintain a safe and healthy environment for guests and the community.
