Traffic signals and street lights

Traffic signals

Traffic SignalsThe City of Santa Ana operates and maintains over 300 traffic signals. Signal Operations and Maintenance provides day-to-day management, operation, preventive maintenance, and repairs of the City-owned traffic signals. From the Traffic Management Center (TMC), engineers monitor in real-time the traffic signal system and can quickly detect and respond to traffic signal concerns.

With the use of Intelligent Transportation technologies, the City is implementing measures to enhance vehicle, bicycle, and pedestrian safety. The Cities 2020 Local Synchronization Plan exemplifies the Cities pledge to providing a safe, efficient and well-maintained transportation network.

The City of Santa Ana is committed to providing the safest, most efficient, and advanced Traffic Signal System available. To report a concern related to the City’s Traffic Signals, please call our Traffic Engineering division at (714) 647-5619 or report the concern through the mySantaAna App.

Street lights

Street lightCity of Santa Ana recently completed the acquisition of approximately 7,800 streetlights from Southern California Edison (SCE) increasing the City's total inventory of streetlights to approximately 11,300. The acquisition of the streetlights provided the City the ability to upgrade the streetlights from High Pressure Sodium (HPS) light fixtures to energy efficient Light Emitting Diode (LED) lights. With the completion of the acquisition and subsequent LED conversion, the City was successful in obtaining rebates to begin installation of lighting in unlit areas, upgrade the streetlights recently purchased from SCE, continue with LED conversions, and for ongoing maintenance of City-owned street lights.

To report a concern related to the City’s Street Lighting System, please call our Traffic Engineering division at (714) 647-5619 or report it through the mySantaAna App.
