Transit Zoning Code – Specific Development No. 84 (SD-84) Industrial Moratorium

On May 21, 2024, the Santa Ana City Council adopted Urgency Ordinance No. NS-3064, extending a moratorium on the approval, commencement, establishment, relocation or expansion of industrial uses located within the Transit Zoning Code – Specific Development No. 84 (SD-84) zoning district for an additional ten (10) months and 15 days. The moratorium will expire on April 15, 2025, or until the City Council adopts a permanent ordinance.

State law requires jurisdictions to continue reviewing or processing pending applications affected by a moratorium but prohibits an action to approve, issue, entitle, or take similar approving action during the period. The 45-day moratorium effectively “pauses” all applicable applications (e.g., building permit, planning review, business licenses, etc.).

For additional information, please call the Planning Division at (714) 647-5804.
